Lucifer Morgenstern, known as The Devil, is the Prince of Darkness, ruler of Hell and one of the oldest powers in the cosmos. Outwardly he appears charming, elegant and almost playful, but behind that mask stands an underworld ruler who has survived billions of years of deals, rebellions, betrayal and open scores. He is tied to Rumpelstiltskin's bloodline by an ancient feud: Rumpelstiltskin sees him as an arrogant underworld noble, while Lucifer sees Rumpelstiltskin as an angry fairy-tale relic. The Panama Hat makes that conflict even more poisonous, because Lucifer once bound the demon inside it into straw form for reasons nobody can prove. The fact that Zoey later broke that hat and used it for Rebel Girl FM both amuses and unsettles him. After exactly three dates, Lucifer fell for Rebel Girl. He is not part of the team, but he remains a shadow at the edge of the lore: temptation, interference, old ruler and lovestruck problem in one person. His older story also includes Lilith, his former wife. From that union came Azrael and Seraphine.
